AI Talent And Organizational Design

Introduction

An AI initiative involves understanding a task, preparing data, building an application, evaluating it, running the service, managing risk, and helping people adopt it. A job title cannot tell us that one person can do all of those things. Define the work and required responsibilities before designing the team.

We will examine the roles and how they fit together. Your project designs an AI organization for a fictional 500-person company. You will also learn how a nontechnical executive can evaluate technical work by asking for concrete evidence. The team should fit the workload and responsibilities.

Review operations in Module 7, evaluation in Module 16, and enterprise deployment in Module 26. Start with roles, then organizational choices, and finish with the hiring and budget example.
